We retired in 2006 from the
University of Rhode Island as specialists in Spanish language and literature,
and Hispano-Judaic and Pilgrimage Studies. Together and individually we have
published extensively on the lives and religion of the Crypto-Jews of Spain and
Mexico, including their culinary culture, on Spanish literature, and on world
pilgrimage, Jewish pilgrimage, and the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.
With retirement, after having been teachers and administrators for nearly 4 decades at various universities, both in the US and abroad, we are able to devote full energy to our ongoing research and to public speaking. This website focuses on our occasional musings and those things going on in our lives and on our computers. Enjoy!! and students of comparative and popular religion will be drawing on this work
for years." [Haym Soloveitchik,
Yeshiva University] about Drizzle of Honey: The Lives and Recipes of Spain's Crypto-Jews "I … was mesmerized. … Easily, this is among the top three Jewish Cookbooks of the year." [Larry Mark, SeferSafari.com (1999)]
